The year is 2011 and I am 29 years old. The call centre days are over and I am now in university. The big video game console is the Nintendo Wii. I have never thought of getting a Wii, even though there is a new Animal Crossing game on it. It never seemed possible that I could ever own a Wii. I have my DS, and that's all I need.

Or so I thought. Luckily, Whitney thought different.

I have loved Whitney since the LiveJournal days. She is my best friend, my ride or die, and that Christmas she sends me the surprise of my life. She lives in the United States, and one day I come home to a huge parcel from her.

It's a Nintendo Wii. Not just any Nintendo Wii, but a blue Nintendo Wii. Blue is my favourite colour. And in the parcel is a copy of Animal Crossing: City Folk.

I was stunned, shocked and speechless. It was the kindest thing anyone had ever done for me.

At the time of writing this, it is 2025. I still have that blue Wii, and it is still in perfect condition. I also kept the Wii box for it, and the box she sent it in. It remains one of my most cherished possessions, even after all these years.

Thank you, Whitsy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your gift is still touching me 14 years later, and I'm so grateful that we are still in each others lives.
